I’m Keaton Weiss, creator of the Due Dissidence blog and podcast. Thank you for checking us out! We are a progressive opinion site that seeks to combat corporate media narratives with independent perspectives on politics and current affairs.
I decided to start this project in November of 2018, after contemplating it for nearly a year. I finally launched the podcast with my friend, activist and historian Richie Rosencrans, in March of 2019. Richie and I both live in the Hudson Valley region of New York, and the initial concept for the show was that we would cover local issues through a national lens, and national issues through a local lens. In May of 2019, we launched this blog site to accompany the podcast.
As the project grew, so did the scope of issues we covered. I invited my friend Russell Dobular to submit a few of his writings to the site, and, long story short, he’s now a recurring contributor for the blog and a regular co-host on the podcast.
To reiterate, we are an opinion outlet. We are not newscasters. We are commentators with our own editorial positions and perspectives, which, as I’m sure you’ll notice, we present rather straightforwardly and unapologetically. If you’re looking for run-of-the-mill news coverage from neutral reporters, look elsewhere. But if you’re interested in hearing independent, anti-establishment, and occasionally satirical and iconoclastic progressive perspectives on politics, current affairs, pop culture, and anything else we decide to cover, then you’ve come to the right place!
Below are a few ways to learn more about us and get in touch if you’d like. Thanks again for reading.
